“Our mission is to empower young people to pursue their passions through education.”
What do you believe has been the biggest factor behind the success of Personal Collection Direct Selling in the direct selling industry?
The consistency of our purpose is the biggest factor behind the success of our company.
We built PC on a simple but meaningful idea: to help bring the Great Life to every family. That may sound broad, but in our day-to-day work, it’s very concrete. It means giving Filipino families access to quality products they can trust. It means giving people, especially those who want to earn more for their families, a practical, viable business opportunity. It also means building a company where growth is measured not only by sales but also by the lives we help improve.
Direct selling is very personal. It’s not just about moving products from one point to another. It is about trust and relationships. Many of our dealers join us because they want to support their families, send children to school, set aside savings, or simply have another source of income. That is why we have always taken the responsibility seriously.
Our success has also come from the balance of three things: superior products that serve everyday needs, a dealer network that is deeply rooted in communities, and a culture that continues to put people at the center. Products matter, but people make the model work.
Over the years, we have also stayed grounded in the values that guide our growth: excellence, innovation, humility, people development, and responsibility to the environment. These are not just words we use externally. They shape the way we make decisions, improve products, support our dealers, and build the organization.
How would you describe Personal Collection’s core business today, and which products or services are currently driving the company’s growth?
Everyday essentials and inclusive entrepreneurship anchor our core business.
We have products that families use regularly: detergent, bath soap, shampoo, toothpaste, coffee, and a lot more. These are not occasional or luxury purchases. They are part of daily routines. This is why our business has remained resilient. When a product becomes part of how a household cleans, cares, prepares, protects, or feels confident every day, it builds trust over time.
At the same time, we know that we cannot rely only on what worked in the past. Consumer expectations are changing. Families are more conscious about value, quality, safety, convenience, and even the environmental impact of what they buy. Innovation has become a very important part of how we grow.
It’s not just launching something new. It has to answer a real need. A good example is our sof & mmmmm Serenity fabric conditioner. We developed it in response to a very vital concern among families. Dengue remains a serious problem in the Philippines, and many households are looking for simple ways to add protection to their daily routines. By creating a fabric conditioner with a citronella scent that helps repel mosquitoes, we made an everyday laundry product more valuable. While still providing softness and fragrance, it also gives families an added sense of care and protection. And that’s value.
Here’s another: our Tuff Powder Laundry Detergent Mix & Wash. In many households, people are used to separating white from colored clothes to prevent color bleeding, a common laundry habit. But it also means doing separate washes, using more detergent, more water, and more time.
With our new Tuff Mix & Wash, we wanted to rewrite the rules and make laundry more efficient. It is the first and only smart powder detergent with Bleed Lock Technology, allowing white and colored clothes to be washed together, giving families a more practical way to launder while saving on soap, water, time, and effort.
These are the types of innovation we do: practical, consumer-led, and relevant to everyday life. Sometimes, innovation begins with a simple household routine. The opportunity is to make that routine easier, more efficient, and more valuable for families.
Beyond products, our growth is also being driven by improvements in our systems, digital platforms, and dealer tools. We continue to invest in technology because it makes day-to-day operations easier to run for both the organization and our dealers. The goal is to remove friction so people can focus more on customers, relationships, and growth.
What strengths make Personal Collection stand out in an increasingly competitive direct selling and consumer goods market?
Our strength is that we look at the business from different angles.
We are a consumer goods company, but we are also a livelihood platform. We sell everyday products, but we also help people start and grow small businesses. We invest in technology, but we still believe that human connection is at the center of direct selling. That combination is what makes us thrive.
Our dealer community remains one of our biggest strengths. They are not just sellers. They are entrepreneurs, community builders, and trusted people in their own circles. In many cases, customers buy because they trust the person recommending the product. That is something difficult to replicate through a purely transactional retail model.
Another strength is our focus on improving the way we operate. We have been investing in digital transformation, dealer applications, data systems, AI-enabled tools, and better internal processes. These help us forecast better, manage inventory more intelligently, support the field more effectively, and make faster decisions.
But I also want to be clear that, for us, technology is not meant to replace people. It should support them. If technology can simplify ordering, reduce manual work, improve access to information, or help a dealer serve customers better, it becomes valuable. Human connection remains at the heart of our model. We want to be a high-tech and high-touch business.
Sustainability is also becoming a stronger part of how we define responsible growth. Through our #GreenLifeGreatLife movement, we have pursued programs such as tree and mangrove planting, plastic waste recovery, and our shift from recyclable plastics to biodegradable packaging solutions. These efforts are important because companies have to be responsible not only for the products they put into the market, but also for the impact they leave behind. We must be doing something right because we’ve been recognized with 28 sustainability awards in the last couple of years.
Where do you see the biggest opportunities for Personal Collection’s market development and expansion in the coming years?
I see three major areas of opportunity: deeper growth in the Philippines, stronger digital transformation, and careful regional expansion.
First, the market here still has a lot of room for growth. Many communities need access to reliable everyday products and practical income opportunities. Our model remains relevant because it addresses both. We are not only bringing products closer to households. We are also giving people a way to earn and build something of their own.
Second, digital transformation. It’s not just about apps or platforms. Rather, using technology to make the business more responsive. Better data can help us understand demand more clearly. Stronger systems can improve inventory and fulfillment. Digital tools can help dealers manage their businesses with more confidence. AI and analytics can help the organization make better and faster decisions.
Third, regional expansion. We have already taken steps outside the Philippines. We expanded into Malaysia in 2023. That experience suggests our model can be relevant in other Southeast Asian markets, but expansion must be done carefully. Each market has its own consumer behavior, culture, regulations, and business realities. We cannot simply copy and paste what worked in the Philippines.
Growth outside the country must be disciplined. We have to understand the market, build the right capabilities, and make sure we grow in a way that is sustainable.
In the end, expansion is meaningful only if it allows us to serve more families, create more opportunities, and build a stronger organization. Revenue and market share are important, of course, but they are not the only measures of success. We also look at impact.
How does Personal Collection attract, support, and maintain strong relationships with its distributors, customers, and business partners?
Relationships are built through trust and consistency. That is true for dealers, customers, employees, and business partners.
For our dealers, the most important thing is that they feel supported. We provide products they can be proud to offer, training to help them improve skills, tools to make the business easier, recognition to celebrate their success, and systems that help them grow. Many of our dealers are building their businesses while also taking care of families and managing many responsibilities. We have to respect that reality and give them support that is practical.
For customers, trust begins with product quality. People will only continue buying if the product works for them, if it is fairly priced, and if it fits their needs. We have to keep listening to what households are experiencing and respond with products that are useful, accessible, and reliable.
For business partners, we value long-term relationships built on transparency and shared standards. We work with partners who understand the importance of quality, accountability, and purpose. In a business like ours, the strength of the whole system depends on many people doing their part well.
At the center of all this is people-centered leadership. Products are important. Systems are important. Technology is important. But businesses are sustained by people. When people feel heard, respected, equipped, and valued, they are more likely to stay committed and contribute to the future of the organization.
That is why we continue to invest not only in products and platforms, but also in relationships. In direct selling, relationships are not secondary to our framework. They are the reason it works.
Our story has always been about people. That is what the Great Life means to us. It is something we have to commit to every day through how we serve our dealers, customers, employees, and communities.
