Grant Thornton Argentina has appointed Leonardo Fraga as Managing Partner, effective October 1, 2026, and is widening its sustainability, compliance and cybersecurity services. The firm, which pairs more than 50 years in the Argentine market with a global network, makes the move as it marks 25 years representing Grant Thornton in the country. New heads are also taking over its Audit and Advisory practices, joining the established heads of Tax, Business Process Solutions and Business Risk Services.

Professional services are in transition. Traditional technical work can now be automated or handled by smaller teams, and the sector is moving toward strategic consulting and assurance, where human judgment still counts. Fraga aims to hold Grant Thornton Argentina’s place among the country’s key consultancy players through that shift, backed by more than 400 professionals in Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Rosario and alliances across the provinces.

The rulebook keeps moving

The shift is happening just as regulations around the world are rewritten to cover new technologies, sustainability-related issues and compliance requirements, against an ever-changing geopolitical scenario. The expanded sustainability, compliance and cybersecurity offering is built for that pressure, and for the clients who must meet the new rules. The firm’s approach is to automate tasks where possible, keep pace with regulation and use new technology ethically, for its own team as much as for the companies it advises.

“The importance of human perspective in planning, reviewing and development of new processes will be the vehicle for AI implementation and innovation,” says Leonardo Fraga, Managing Partner of Grant Thornton Argentina.

Automation shrinks the old model

As more routine technical work is automated, the firm is building its model around partnership and the knowledge passed down through several generations of its consultants. Its International Business Center, run with a sister practice in Peru, helps companies expanding internationally build cross-border business in Latin America and worldwide. In each engagement, it develops solutions alongside its clients, and its teams carry what they learn into the next one, taking pride in their success.

“For many of them, we are strategic partners that take care of certain tasks so that they can concentrate on their business core,” says Fraga.

Not every client can pause

Partnership matters most under strain, and Fraga, over a 30-year career, has watched Argentine companies keep going even when outside circumstances forced them to adapt. Many seek advice when a difficult financing decision, a tougher macroeconomic context or a challenging industry makes the next step harder, and the investment that change demands takes its own toll. Grant Thornton Argentina aims to keep its services cost-efficient and agile, with results clients can track, and reaches them nationwide from its three offices and provincial alliances.

“They cannot stop their daily activities to consider alternatives and weigh in prospects. And those are the moments where synergy happens,” says Fraga.
