What does your organization do, and who is it for?
We are a Peruvian construction company with 27 years of experience in medium- and large-scale mining projects.
What are the main programs, services, or products you offer?
We provide earthworks, civil works, and road maintenance services for various mine projects.
What's a decision you made that went against how everyone else in your field was doing it — and what did it cost you?
We tested other brands of earthmoving equipment that offered better pricing and technology, along with performance equal to what we currently use. The challenge lay in getting the staff to understand the need to be open to the changes presented to us.
What's the closest your organization ever came to not making it? What changed?
When I joined the company 3.5 years ago, we had only one mining project; today, we are present at six mines. The company has transitioned from a family-run business to a corporate enterprise.
What does a typical day actually involve that people outside your field would never guess?
Most of my time is spent in meetings and managing internal and external communications—whether reviewing production or financial statements.
What would you say sets your organization apart from others in your field?
A significant number of our professionals have worked directly for mining companies, giving us the advantage of understanding exactly what our clients want—and we know that safety is the priority.
If someone came to you wanting to break into your field, what's one thing you'd tell them that nobody tells beginners?
The best decisions are made as a team; don’t rely on your first option—take the time to evaluate it and consult with those who have more experience.
Could you share a specific success story or a concrete example of your impact?
Completing the expansion of a mining project within the requested three-year timeframe and the approved budget. It was a collaborative effort involving the client, the supervision team, and the contractors.
What's the biggest misconception outsiders have about your work?
Some people believe that only the general manager issues orders, whereas one actually has to provide hands-on leadership regarding safety, business development, and the review of financial statements and operating results—quite apart from preparing monthly reports for the board of directors.
What would you say to someone considering partnering with, supporting, or joining your organization?
A las empresas que quieran asociarse con nosotros les diriamos que van a encontrar a un buen aliado, y que tenemos que unir fuerzas para lograr el objetivo que se establezca.
What's your vision for the next 3–5 years?
To be recognized as one of the best national companies specializing in earthworks and civil works for mining projects, meeting all specified requirements.
